Raffle Contest Winners


The WCHA  - Northern Lakes Chapter would like to thank everyone who supported our fundraising efforts by purchasing tickets to our 2022 raffle contest.  The draw took place today on September 30th and we are happy to announce the following winners of the three prizes:
The recipient of our third place prize, a paddle making book & DVD set, is Jim MacLachlan of Gananoque, Ontario.
This set of resources has all the info you need to learn how to carve a variety of one-piece and laminated paddle designs. Includes a brand new, unused copy of Making Canoe Paddles in Wood by Graham Warren and a DVD copy of Paddlemaking with Graham WarrenThe DVD (runtime 90 minutes)  includes ten full-sized, digital blade plans (*.pdf format). 



The recipient of our 2nd prize, a framed 18"x 24" Peterborough Canoes historic reprint, is Ian Ramsay of Toronto. 

 Grace your walls with this large colour poster (18" x 24") mounted in an attractive wood-finish frame. This historic reprint outlines some of the various hull designs and construction methods of the world famous Peterborough Canoe Company, active from 1892 to 1961. 


Finally, the winner of our grand prize, the 58" artisan canoe paddle, is Don Konoby of Huntsville.



This full-sized artisan canoe paddle is made of Maple and Walnut and features a unique guide style grip. The blade is decorated with a hand-burned image of a Blue Jay perched amongst some tree branches. Paddle is fully sealed with marine grade spar varnish and is ready for immediate in-water use or for display.
