2024 Dwight Silent Boat Rally

On Saturday, July 27th, members from the Northern Lakes Chapter participated in the annual Lake of Bays Silent Boat Rally in Dwight, Ontario. Hosted by the Lake of Bays Heritage Association, roughly two dozen watercraft launched from the public beach to paddle the lower Oxtongue River to Marsh's Falls.

Chapter Head, Alex Guthro and his daughter Emily made the trip all the way from the Hamilton area. The weather was stellar and the serene lower Oxtongue valley did not disappoint.

Much time was spent around beautiful Marsh's Falls which was exhibiting a powerful flow from the elevated water levels this season. As part of the registration fee, a wonderful catered lunch was provided to be enjoyed at the falls by the well-known local hot spot,  Henrietta's Pine Bakery.

After returning to the launch point, the group stopped for a visit to the Dwight showroom of Langford Canoe which featured an original 1950s Langford Marine cedar canvas canoe on display.

Northern Lakes Chapter members are encouraged to attend this well organized annual event next year!
